What is EngCalc?
EngCalc bundles 13 everyday engineering calculators and reference tables: axial stress and strain, beam deflection and bending moment (simply-supported and cantilever cases), factor of safety, area moment of inertia and section modulus, bolt torque versus preload, gear and belt ratio with output speed and torque, belt length, cutting speed versus spindle RPM, pipe-flow velocity and Reynolds number, hydraulic-cylinder force, and concrete volume and cost, plus metric tap-drill and AWG wire-gauge reference tables. Every result is computed locally with no server, no account, and no upload.
How does it work?
Each calculator uses standard closed-form engineering formulas — for example sigma = F/A, beam deflection delta = PL^3/48EI, bolt torque T = K*D*F, and Darcy/Reynolds relations — evaluated in client-side JavaScript using SI units. You enter common engineering units (mm, N, GPa, bar, rpm) and EngCalc converts internally; nothing is ever sent to a server.
When should I use it?
Use EngCalc for quick sizing and sanity checks during design, study, or on the shop floor: estimating a beam's deflection, a bolt's tightening torque, a gear train's output, a pipe's flow regime, a hydraulic cylinder's force, or a concrete pour's volume, when you want a fast number without opening a spreadsheet.
